Stroke is preventable. Yet, it is increasingly common in older adults in Nigeria. Physiotherapy is crucial in stroke recovery.

How do you know someone is having a stroke?

What signs do you look out for?

Face drooping. If you ask the person to smile, does one side of their face look different?

Arm weakness. If you ask them to raise both arms, do they raise both?

Speech difficulty, or slurred speech. When you ask them a question or they talk, do they sound like their usual self or is it hard to understand?

Time to call the emergency line or head to the Emergency Department.
